Cadet Day
Spend a Day in the Life of a Firefighter!

Dover Township Fire Department would like to invite you to station 9 to spend the day as a firefighter. There is no cost and you will be able to apply for membership at the end of the day if you are interested. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served at no cost. So come to DTFD and see what its like to be a firefighter!

All ages 16 and older, young and young at heart, all are welcome!

All participates will get real hands on time!

Fire Attack (pulling hand lines and flowing water)
Fire Truck Rides
Search and Rescue
Vehicle Rescue (use the Jaws of Life!)
Repel From the Training Tower
Q&A Session at the end

Animal Rescue - Dover Twp

05/02/10 - Rescue 9 was dispatched to help rescue a dog, that was stuck in a storm drain. It took crews about 20 minutes to get the k9 out.

2 Alarm House Fire - West Manchester Twp

04/17/10 - Around 2200 hrs on Saturday the 17th of April, DTFD was dispatched to a report of a chimney fire on the 2100 block of Taxville Rd in West Manchester Twp. Crews arrived on scene with smoke coming from the eaves of the structure. The fire progressed rapidly and crews went to a defensive attack. There were no injuries and the homeowners were able to escape unharmed. Engine 9-1, 9-2, and Rescue 9 were dispatched to the fire. An engine from station 23 stood by at station 9 to cover Dover Twp while crews were on scene.

2 Alarm Barn Fire - Dover Twp

03/28/10 - DTFD was dispatched to a barn fire on Davidsburg Rd around 4am on Sunday morning. Units from companies 24, 11, 5, 26, 3, 22, 25,112, 89, 99, 6, 66, 33, 8, 2, and 1 assisted on the call. Engines from 66 and 35 stood by at station 9 and 6 to cover the Dover area. Two firefighters from station 9 were transported to York Hospital for smoke inhalation and were released. It took a little over 2 hours to control the blaze, firefighters were on scene for 5 hours.
