Around 1530hrs, Engine 9-2 was dispatched to a reported fire in the 3500 block of Bull Road in Conewago Towship. Crews arrived on scene with smoke showing on the first floor, and made an aggressive interior attack. Engine 9-2 arrived on scene and pulled a back-up line to support the first arriving company. The crew then checked for extension on the second floor. The fire started in the area of a clothes dryer and spread into the kitchen. Rescue 9 was also on scene and assisted in overhaul.
Around 0730hrs, DTFD was dispatched to a 3 alarm fire on the 100 block of E. Cottage Place in York City. DTFD firefighters provided manpower, and went back into service 0900hrs.
The York City Fire Department was dispatched to a fire with a report of people trapped around 0700hrs, they arrived with fire showing front to back from the 1st to the 3rd floor. York City firefighters made an aggressive interior attack to try to find the victim, they found the victim 10 minutes into their interior attack. The victim did not survive. The fire was caused by a cigarette, lack of smoke detectors and smoke detectors with batteries taken out aided in the progression of the fire without alerting the tenants.
Rescue 9 was dispatch to a vehicle accident with a vehicle overturned on S. Salem Church Rd near East Berlin Rd. Medic 97 was in the area when the call was dispatched and responded. They arrived on scene and confirmed that there were no injuries. Rescue 9 and Engine 9-1 cleaned up the road way and were put back into service.
