Commerical Structure Fire - Dover Twp

07/08/10 - DTFD was dispatched to Weis Market on Carlisle Rd in Dover Twp on Thursday around 2000hrs for a reported fire in the produce area. The fire was contained by the sprinkler system and extinguished by firefighters. Units from stations 1,2,5,6,9,23,24,89, and 99 assisted. Firefighters were on scene for 2 hours.

Cadet Day a Success!

06/26/10 - DTFD held the first annual cadet day on June 26th! Cadets got to experience what its like to be a firefighter, they navigated thorough the maze, flew water with fire hoses, repelled from the tower, and used the jaws of life on a car.

Vehicle Accident with Entrapment - Dover Twp

06/09/10 - DTFD was dispatched to a vehicle accident with entrapment around 0400 hrs on the 4700 block of Davidsburg Rd. A lieutenant from station 6 was first on scene confirming heavy entrapment. Rescue 9 completed the difficult extrication in 30 minutes and the patient was flown by STAT MedEvac to York Hospital. Other units on scene to assist were Engine's 9-1, 6-2, and 24-1.

5 Alarm Row Home Fire - North York Boro

06/08/10 - DTFD was dispatched to a 5 alarm row home fire on the 900 block of N George St. in North York Boro. The fire damaged 6 homes heavily damaging 5. 17 residents and 3 businesses were affected by the fire. Engine 9-1 crews provided RIT operations.

Cadet Day
Spend a Day in the Life of a Firefighter!

Dover Township Fire Department would like to invite you to station 9 to spend the day as a firefighter. There is no cost and you will be able to apply for membership at the end of the day if you are interested. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served at no cost. So come to DTFD and see what its like to be a firefighter!

All ages 16 and older, young and young at heart, all are welcome!

All participates will get real hands on time!

Fire Truck Rides
Search and Rescue
Vehicle Rescue (use the Jaws of Life!)
Repel From the Training Tower
Q&A Session at the end
